Rieslingfeier Gala Dinner
SATURDAY, JANUARY 31ST, 2015 - 7:00PM
Reynard
Wythe Hotel, 80 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

The Rieslingfeier Gala Dinner is the cornerstone event of the Rieslingfeier program; this may very well be the greatest German wine “BYOB” dinner in the world. Each and every winemaker will bring rare, back-vintage bottlings directly from their own cellar for this event. We shall be expected to reciprocate as generously as possible from our own cellars. The five course meal will be customized by Reynard’s Chef Sean Rembold to pair with dry and off-dry Riesling; wine service will be presided over by Rieslingfeier Chef Sommelier Raj Vaidya along with a group of the country's top sommeliers (for the complete 2015 sommelier team, click here).

Seminar: What is a Kabinett?
KARTHÄUSERHOF - EGON MÜLLER - SELBACH-OSTER
MODERATED BY JOHN GILMAN AND STEPHEN BITTEROLF
FRIDAY, JANUARY 30TH, 2015, 11:00AM - 12:30PM

Created by the 1971 German wine law, the Kabinett has been defined by legal parameters that are no longer relevant. Initially positioned as the most basic of the Prädikats, the delicacy of the wine has made it extremely popular and one of the more important wines for many growers. Yet, all growers must define for themselves what a Kabinett is. Winemakers Egon Müller IV, Johannes Selbach and Christian Vogt of Karthäuserhof will discuss how they approach their Kabinetts while presenting two vintages for tasting.
